There are two planned public hearings to review and discuss proposed 2018 Hood River Bridge toll rate increases. The first meeting is Tuesday, October 17, 2017. at 5:00pm. This is the regularly scheduled Port Commission meeting. The meeting location is 1000 East Port Marina Drive, Hood River, in the Port conference room. The second public hearing is scheduled for October 31, 2107.
The toll rate increases are part of the 2017-18 Port of Hood River Budget and are recommended to take effect February 01, 2018.
Proposed rates are:
Motorcycles (Class 0) $1.00 (Breezeby $0.75)
Passenger Vehicles & Pickup Trucks (Class 1) $2.00 (Breezeby $1.00)
All other Vehicles (Class 2 & Above) $3.00 (Breezeby $2.00)
(depending on class, the toll may be charged on number of axles)
Port of Hood River staff recommended all new net revenues related to the toll increase be reserved in the Port Bridge Repair & Replacement Fund. The Port's 30-year work plan anticipates $51M in expenditures by 2032, only 15 years away.
